Job Purpose: Utilizes clinical laboratory technology principles to perform and report tests, promoting efficient laboratory operation and effective patient care. Responsibilities: Understand and adhere to quality control protocols. Perform quality control tests as per guidelines, reporting outliers and recording data. Perform daily and monthly instrument procedures accurately. Troubleshoot QC and instrument failures, contacting technical support as needed. Familiar with cytology preparation, staining, and cover slipping techniques. Screens and diagnoses gynecologic (PAP smears) and non-gynecologic cytology smears, responsible for final diagnosis of negatives. Understand lab workflow and assist with problem-solving. Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications/Requirements: BS/BA in biological sciences and CT (ASCP) certification.
