A client of Insight Global is seeking a Plant Fiber Installer to support a large-scale office cabling and infrastructure project. This individual will be responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and maintaining fiber and copper network cabling to ensure all desktop workstations and terminal systems are properly connected to the organization's data and server infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include measuring and installing cable runs, terminating network drops, routing cabling from communication rooms and server racks to end-user workstations, reviewing work orders and technical documentation, and troubleshooting connectivity issues using hardware and software testing tools. The team is currently installing backbone cabling and completing approximately 123 network drops to make all desktop stations fully operational.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and 2-4 years of experience in structured cabling, fiber installation, or network infrastructure support. Experience with fiber termination and fusion splicing is required, along with the ability to read diagrams, follow technical manuals, and safely use hand and testing tools. This individual should possess a strong understanding of data and voice communication systems, maintain knowledge of current industry technologies, and be comfortable working in environments handling sensitive information where work must be completed within designated project hours under general supervision.
